WERF
Pointers:
- District recruiters are located at tables in a large room.
Many conversations will be occurring simultaneously.
- Plan
for short interviews.
- Districts will have varied approaches to the fair. Some will be providing information about their district, other will be interviewing for key positions.
- Use this opportunity to open doors-- make an impression. There may not be an open position today, but something may open up a few months from now. Ask about substitute teaching opportunities too!
- Some districts may have long lines. Talk
to recruiters who are available. Ask for job-search tips. Practice,
practice, practice!
- Take
advantage of the on-site career counseling for resume review, and
other job-search questions.
- Check
with the Registration/Information Table if you have questions, or stop any
staff member (designated by name badge) for questions or assistance
in locating a district.
- Use the District Recruiters on-line listing to search school districts to create a prioritized list of the employers with whom you wish to meet. This is very important. This information will be updated on a regular basis.
- Leave
a message at the Information Table for recruiters. BE SURE TO
NOTIFY RECRUITERS IF YOU CANCEL AN INTERVIEW TIME.
- Last-minute
district cancellations occur occasionally or district may leave early. If
a school district you are interested in is not there, you can
leave your resume at the Information Table and we will send it
on to the school district.
